Big League Productions, Inc. is celebrating its 35th season of producing and general managing Broadway tours of shows and attractions throughout the world. Early highlights were collaborations with Disney on Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida (US Tours, Taiwan, and China) and with Cameron Mackintosh on a new production of Miss Saigon. Also, the Tony®-Award-winning Broadway revival of 42nd Street and Susan Stroman’s Broadway production of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. Others: Footloose (Las Vegas, US Tour), Titanic, 1776, Peter Pan, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum starring Rip Taylor, Blast!, The Who’s Tommy (US Tour, South America, Europe, and Japan), Ain’t Misbehavin’ with Ruben Studdard, and the First National Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – flying car and all. Sandy Rustin is one of the most produced playwrights in the country (American Theatre Magazine ’25-’26). Her adaptation of Clue has enjoyed 5,000+ productions worldwide. Sandy made her Broadway debut with The Cottage (“Top 10 Plays of the Year” - Entertainment Weekly). Her adaptation of Dear World for NY City Center Encores! was a NY Times Critic’s Pick. Her play with music, Almost Like a Dance, is in development with Grammy winner, Edie Brickell, and her play, The Suffragette’s Murder is a winner of the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award and recent Henry Award nominee for “Best New Play.” Her musical Always Something There premiered at The Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre last summer and her newest shows, Loch Ness and Upgrade will premiere in 2027. Carmel Dean is a Composer, Arranger, Musical Director and Pianist. Her first musical, Renascence, was recently produced Off-Broadway by the award-winning Transport Group, and was named Best New Musical at the 2018 Off-Broadway Alliance Awards. The Original Off-Broadway Cast album is available on Apple Music and Spotify. Her song cycle Well-Behaved Women, starring Broadway stars LaChanze, Bonnie Milligan, Liz Callaway, Barbara Walsh and Andrea Burns, among others, premiered to sold-out performances at Joe’s Pub in New York City, and a critically-acclaimed run in Sydney, Australia. An album is forthcoming. As a Musical Supervisor and Arranger her upcoming projects include The Notebook with music by Ingrid Michaelson. Carmel was Musical Director for the Broadway musical If/Then, starring Idina Menzel, and was Music Supervisor of the subsequent National Tour. Other Broadway credits include Hands on a Hardbody, American Idiot, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off-Broadway credits include Everyday Rapture, Vanitiesand Elegies by William Finn. International credits include Chicago in Hong Kong and the 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Sydney. Carmel has also served as Chita Rivera’s Musical Director for many national and international appearances, and she performed with Green Day on the Grammy Awards in 2010.
